Meet Stephen

My goal is to provide our clients with high quality service in everything from help with forms to more complicated research questions.

Prior to joining Chessman Wealth Strategies, I was a practice support associate for a brokerage firm in the greater St. Louis, MO area for 3 years. I am a graduate of the University of Missouri – Columbia, with a Bachelors in Personal Financial Management Services and a Personal Financial Planning Certificate.

I enjoy spending time with my family and cooking new things.

Favorite food:

Nothing beats a good steak

Best piece of financial advice received:

“It’s about time in the market, not timing the market”

Favorite quote:

“Home is the place where, when you have to go there, they have to take you in” – Robert Frost, Death of the Hired Man

Hidden talent:

Being mistaken for an answering machine when speaking on the phone.

Favorite book:

Private Empire by Steve Coll. The book is a history of ExonnMobil, but the most exceptional part of the book is the story telling ability of Steve Coll

Favorite movie:

Tombstone with Kurt Russell, Val Kilmer, Sam Elliot and Bill Paxton… it doesn’t get much better than that!

What motivates me:

Continually learning. I get a great amount of satisfaction in learning how to do something better and better every day.

Favorite holiday:

Christmas. Christmas has always been a special holiday for my family. It seems to be the one holiday that we always make sure that we can be together.

Place you’d most like to visit:

China. My wife is from China, and we haven’t had the opportunity to go back and visit yet. Her region in the South-East is known for a dish called “hot pot”, and she claims the best hot pot can be found in her home town of Chongqing.

My Biggest accomplishment:

Becoming an Eagle Scout. The journey that my scouting career took me on to earn my Eagle Scout was deeply impactful on my life from every aspect from business to my own personal interest.
